The Stones meet 80's synths and drum machines. With the advent of the 80's, this album is dominated with disco-ish beats, sound effects, distortions and a hollow, electronic sound. It works well on a few tracks, like the driving "Undercover of the Night," "She Was Hot," and Keith's cool "Wanna Hold You," but in general the album sounds tinny and lackluster. The songs are dominated with bloody and violent imagery, reflecting the tension in Mick and Keith's relationship at the time. In fact, in the video for "Undercover of the Night," Keith shoots a kidnapped Mick in the head, execution-style. Wsih fulfillment? Only Keith knows. Again, like its successor "Dirty Work," this one's for real completists.
