"Stripped" is one of the most interesting releases ever by the Stones. Recorded during some acoustic club dates and studio sessions near the end of the Voodoo Lounge world tour in Europe, the content is mainly songs that aren't in their usual live set. Updates and reinterpretations of "I'm Free" and "The Spider and the Fly" surpass the originals. The new versions of "Wild Horses" and "Slipping Away" sound more heartfelt, and the new recordings of "Let It Bleed" and "Shine A Light" remind the listener of how good those usually unnoticed songs are. The two new tracks, covers of Bob Dylan's "Like A Rolling Stone" and Willie Dixon's "Little Baby" are teriffic, with the Stones playing good, old-fashioned, straight blues on "Little Baby." This is one disc that belongs in any Stones collection.
