The Stones conquer the 70's on "Some Girls." They infuse their rock with the sounds of disco ("Miss You") and, believe it or not, punk ("Lies," "When the Whip Comes Down") to terrific results. "Miss You," the ballad "Beast of Burden" and "Shattered," the funky ode to New york are the real gems here. There's not a poor song on the disc, with tracks like the mysoginist "Some Girls" and Keith's "Before They Make Me Run" standing out among the rest. Their country number, "Far Away Eyes" is a fun jab at televised religion, too. Buy this one.
